Suggest Treatment For Severe Soreness And Numbness In The Knee
I m 21 years old.. I fell yesterday on my left knee and ever since my knee cap is numb to touch until I go to press on it. There is a very sore indent inside the knee cap and when I press on the area, it stings very bad.. what do you think might have happened?
Hello As per your clinical symptoms it seems that you have had a traumatic injury over you knee following fall which might have caused fracture (may be hairline) of the patella ( a bone over the knee joint). Another possibility is that there may be some soft tissue injury or even sprain or tear of the ligaments of the knee. I would suggest you to get a X-Ray done of your knee to rule out any fracture of the patella. If X-Ray report is negative then you may need to do a MRI scan of your knee to rule out any soft tissue or ligament injury of the knee joint. For the time being you may use some analgsics along with some antacids ( Tab Pyrigesic 650 + Tab Pan 40 ) if the pain is severe. Restrict movement and weight bearing on the affected knee joint and consult an orthopedic surgeon as early as possible with the reports.
Thank you.
