Hello,
I would like to suggest some test:
1. ECG
2.
Kidney Function test
3.
Liver Function test
4. Complete Blood Count
5. Titration of antistreptolysin O
6. Test for electrolyte level (sodium, calcium, potassium).
Meanwhile, you can follow these guidelines: The calf muscles should be rested. Sufficient rest can help relieve the pain and swelling may subside gradually.
Cold packs or ice packs can be applied to the swollen calf, 3 to 4 times a day, to reduce the swelling.
Proper
massage with olive oil, sesame oil or mustard oil can help reduce the pain and swelling of the calf muscle.
Keep the leg in an elevated position to get rid of calf and leg pain.
An elastic compression bandage around the calf muscle can help reduce the swelling and pain.
Wear warm leggings and you may feel comfortable. Eat healthy food and enjoy plenty of liquids. Avoid
dehydration as it leads to
leg cramps. A well-balanced diet is necessary to recover fast.
A potassium-rich diet can help avoid leg cramps. Proper and regular exercises can improve the blood flow and can thus cure the calf muscle forever.
Remember, warm up and cool down exercises are always to be performed religiously to avoid such situations.
Try to take less salt. You can apply
Mupirocin Topical on that rash-like appearance. Do the test and post here in HCM. Any doctor can follow you up. Do not worry and any further query, please ask here.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dipan Samanta, General & Family Physician
