Suggest Treatment For Severe Tooth Pain And Fever

Hi. I had a crowned tooth pulled a week ago today. The weekend i ws n so much pain and just not well. I called monday and wnt in he cleaned it out and packed it with clove oil,iodne and something else.. He said it would dissolve but it fell out today.. Wens i was still in pain and a fever has started sinc wens everynite? I called wens and said id had enough of the pain just need antiobiots? i picked up the prescription and have been taking them 4 times a day since then?? Now i have a fever and am shivering for the 3rd nite in a row? Feel so bad but now its fri and i don know wot to do? Thank you Julie Wallace

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

It looks like you have developed dry socket and due to this there is increasing infection and inflammation and this is the cause of fever too..

The dressing that you are given in the extraction socket containing Lidocaine, ZOE etc is appropriate but it has to be changed every alternate day and along with it you also need to take a combination of Ibuprofen and acetaminophen..

Yes, a course of antibiotics like Augmentin us to be taken for atleast 5 days...
Do warm saline gargles and antiseptic mouthwash gargles..
