Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Well I feel in a hole and twisted my ankle. I went to the er and they did xray and said it was sprained, so that was 2 days ok and today I have been having sharp pains in the side of my leg right above my ankle. I m not swollen and am just wondering is this a ligament that could be hurting? Thanks if someone could help
Sprains certainly take days to get significantly better. A sprain is a literal tear/rip of a tendon or ligament. If the tear is big enough sometimes it needs more than just rest.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Matt Wachsman
