Suggest Treatment For Shingles Causing Inflammation In The Brain?
My best friend was just diagnosed with shingles ...it started with having a sore ear for many years....this morning she was in the hospital which the shingles were all over one side of face and some on her tongue which made it difficult to breathe...she suddenly stopped breathing ....staff at hospital revived her and are taking all kinds of tests...she is heavily sedated ...now they informed me she has shingles on the brain...(crying) what happens now....
The description you have given most likely suggestive of encephalitis caused by shingles. Unfortunately, it is a life-threatening condition and supportive care is required.
Admit him in a tertiary care center for expert management. Supportive care and antiviral drugs are the mainstays of the treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
