i have shingles on my face and hair line. very painfull. diagnosed 3 weeks ago in emergency room. used up all my antiviral med and oxycodone. should i have doctor prescribe more? Forehead is scarred. what can i use to clear skin and get rid of pain. i am an active 75 yr. female. still working but have not returned to work because of scarring. help please.

Initially treatment: 1. Anti viral medication:Acyclovir, so continue the antiviral medicine 2. Pain medication: acetaminophen and ocycodeine so cotinue it for pain 3. Topical treatment are as follow: - Capsaicin cream - Neosporine ointment to prvent the bacterial infections - Calamine lotion You have to take for at least one month and if not respond after one minth then take: Topical anesthetic: Benzocaine and Antidepressant: Amitryptalin. Wet compression and cool water bath alos help in relieve the symptoms.
