Suggest Treatment For Shingles Rashes On The Forehead
I was diagnosed with shingles on Monday, one spot on my forehead. I began taking Valtrex Monday afternoon. The shingles have spread into the eye area on the left side of my face. I have recently had cataract surgery and am concerned about this. Also my doctor did not give me any instructions as to how to treat my shingles other than taking the Valtrex. What are some general instructions and how long should I expect the shingles rash to last?
1. Oatmeal baths can help relieve itching. 2. Calamine lotion can help dry out blisters and soothe skin. 3. Acetaminophen (Tylenol, generic) can help reduce fever. 4. Antihistamines may relieve severe itching and aid sleep. 5. Most important, don’t scratch! Scratching the blisters can cause scarring and lead to a secondary infection. 6. Aloe Vera gel helps in itching and scars.
These natural cures will help you to deal with the pain and itching due to shingles.
Thanks Dr. Tripat Mehta
