Suggest Treatment For Shortness In Breadth And Scars In The Lungs

Hi, Doctor, Previous i was suffering from MDR TB for which i have undergone through treatment for period of 2 years. However, after completion of the medication I still some time feel short of breadth while concentration on work and head starts paining for which I need to move for a minute to walk. I have consulted to my doctor who was observing me from the start of my medicine. He informed me that you have completed the course and there is no evidence of MDR now. Also, I have done sputum test and no evidence shown in bacteria after 6 weeks of observation. Few weeks back I have done X ray and on the left and right side of lungs koch scarring was reflecting. Doctor informed me it is only a scar and no need to worry about this. I would like to know whether these scars can be removed and also short in breadth is there any issue. Now I have started to do some mediation and having Immunace forte as per my doctor suggestion. May i have some tips and suggestion from you..

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, and your symptoms are suggestive of post TB bronchiectasis. However for reassurance HRCT chest, is recommended. If so, long term medicines for bronchodilation, or air way relieve to help with coughing and postural drainage etc may be needed. Pulmonary function tests may also be needed. I suggest a pulmonologist review in this regard. Vaccination for strep. pneumonia and H. influenza should be done to avoid seasonal exacerbation of infections recurrence.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Regards,
