Suggest Treatment For Shortness Of Breath And Swollen Abdomen
Hi my dad is currently in the hospital but confused as to what to think about what they are telling him. First one doctor said its his heart, another said its his lungs. Another doctor just said its his liver. His symptoms include: Swollen abdomen with fluids, coughing, and shortness of breath, i wouldn t say he doesn t have a loss of appetite but due to his swollen abdomen he eats less, gets full quickly so because of this he has lost weight too. Do you know what it could be and how it could be prevented in the future?
It seems it is a complicated problem to be dissolved with symptoms only. It may be heart problems that rely on ascites (abdominal fluid) and shortness of breath. Also, pulmonary problems like infections or malignancy give these symptoms and signs. Hepatic diseases may also have shortness of breath and ascites.
Having a magnetic resonance test or computed tomography may bring you the diagnosis of the problem.
To prevent first must have the right diagnosis, so let's have the diagnosis. Have a consult with your primary care physician so you may have the diagnosis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Suzana Zharri,
