hello, I am wondering if surgery is the only treatment for silent sinus syndrome? The patient is 14yo male, no sinus or respiratory probs, but left jaw( same side as full sinus) is smaller than right. Recently treated for Epstein-Barr virus. Thank you
Do a CT scan of the paranasal sinus for all the three sections. Do a diagnostic nasal endoscopy and see the maxillary sinuses. We have to know the cause.
Maxillary sinus optimum should be widened. For this, you will need a surgery along with a postoperative nasal spray and steam inhalation. Take calcium tablet and vitamin tablet daily.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
