I stepped into a pile of ant a few yrs ago. Now I have these dark blotcy patches that itch from time to time. They used be big and circular with scaleyflaky skin and used to bleed. Its very uncomortable and un sighly. I have been to a dermatoligist and they thought it was ezcema. The creams they gave didnt work. What can I use to rid this problem?
You have a past history of ant bite. Now you have symptoms of circular scaly / flaky skin. This may be indicative of fungal infection, contact dermatitis, psoriasis or eczema, etc. Skin problems take a long time to heal and eczema can be controlled but there is no cure for it.
You are suggested to wash your foot with warm water, pat it dry and apply creams containing Clotrimazole or Econazole. Ointment Betnovate N and Lotrimin AF also works well. You can take a oral course of anti-fungal medicine like Fluconazole or Amphotericin B. Your treating dermatologist should get you a skin biopsy done to rule out psoriasis. Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
