Suggest Treatment For Sleep Apnea

I suffer from sleep apnea, doctor has put me on a cpap. I am still having issues with my airway. Nose often seems to be blocked. Theres trace of blood in my nasal sputum. Sometimes clots. Once in a while I wake up with a fast heart beat which subsides in 1 or 2 minutes time.

Hello!

Welcome on HCM!

Your symptoms seem to be atypical of sleep apnea. A disorder of the upper airways could explain your symptoms.

Coming to this point, I would recommend consulting with your doctor for a physical check up and some tests:

- a chest X ray study
- respiratory function tests
- an arterial blood gas analysis
- a sinus X ray study for sinus infection
- allergy tests for a possible allergic reaction that may cause persistent blocked nose.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.

Hope to have been helpful to you!

Greetings, Dr. Aida
