Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi, thanks for the query. Specifically speaking, poor sleep usually results from poor lifestyle (irregular sleep wake times, drinking too much tea, coffee, alcohol, cigarettes etc.), lack of exercise, too much stress ( work, family, personal etc.) or as a manifestation of anxiety/depressive disorder. So, first find out if you have any of the modifiable risk factors causing poor sleep like I mentioned above. If Not, you can try something known as phase advance therapy in which you shall remain awake for for 1 full night followed by doing routine work the very next morning & evening. Sleep early (around 10pm) next night & wake up after 8 hours (around 4-5 am next morning). This with help of medications like Ramelteon, Agomelatine (prescribed by psychiatrist) should help you out in no time. Good Luck
