Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I have had a sore throat for two days and then yesterday it turned into a full blown cold. Very drippy nose, watery eyes, slight body ache, general feeling of malaise and some slight wheezing in my chest. Low energy. No fever bit feeling a bit shivery. Have been taking OTC cold and flu medicine. I have a history of colds going into my chest. Dry cough and a bit short of breath.
I would advise you to rest well, drink plenty of fluids and eat frequent small amounts of food so to help your body recover well. You may use Ibuprofen 600 mg every 6-8 hours after food to help with the sore throat and body pains.
If you are not better in 3-4 days or if you notice any worsening you will need to see your doctor and have your lungs checked.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
