Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been treated with strep this week with a poc test done. My throat became sore Saturday. I was given a shot at work in a hospital on Tuesday. I have not had a fever. I do have body aches and trouble swallowing. Tonight when I looked in my throat I noticed one tiny white head on my uvula. Should I be concerned?
You are having throat infection which needs to be treated properly with proper antibiotic. Advice 1. Levocetirizine 5 mg daily per oral for 7 days 2. Cefixime 100 mg daily per oral for 5 days 3. Take ibuprofen 400 mg per oral after meal if pain is really intolerable. Otherwise avoid it 4. Do gargle with chlorhexidine mouth wash four times daily 5. Do not eat heavily at a time. Eat smaller meals 6. Do not lie down immediately after meal 7. Avoid dust, smoking, alcohol, dry environment, cold and spicy food 8. Avoid coffee and tea after meal 9. Consult an ENT specialist for general examination of your nasal passage I hope this information will help you. I will be happy if you ask another question Thanks
