The A/C unit in our office building has gone out and as a result of a few rubber belts going bad / burning the entire building smells of burnt rubber for the past 3 days. We ve been running fans, but unfortunately we don t have any windows in our office that we can open. Is there any kind of health risk to breathing in the air/ possible fumes that are a result of this? If so is this a valid reason to request that management let us leave? Multiple people have complained that they can feel it in their throat and are having allergy type symptoms. Itchy/sore throat, headaches, and stuffy noses are all symptoms.
