My wife had her tonsils and adnoids removed on March 8th. Was very sore after the surgery. In april she started to vomit every time she ate (about 5 - 10 minutes after she ate, said it felt like something was tickling her gag reflex). She now has seizures following the vomitting. Is there a nerve in the throat that can aggrivate the gag reflex and also cause seizures? She s had endoscopes, barrium swallows, etc.. everything checks out fine..... Help!!!!
Her symptoms could be suggestive of glosso-pharingeal neuralgia. Anyway, it does not trigger seizures. But, a brain MRI and an EEG is necessary in order to clarify the cause of all this clinical situation.
