Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 11-year old son has complained of a gag reflex-like symptom when eating the last two days. Tonight - hours after eating a very small dinner - he is uncomfortable and says that when he breathes, swallows, or chews anything he feels like he's going to vomit. He's carrying around a bowl spitting in it and is visibly uncomfortable. No fever and I looked in his throat, which looks fine to me (no redness or inflamation). What should I do?
Some advice that I can give to you are: - Consume only light, plain foods, such as bread and crackers. - Avoid any foods that have strong flavors, are very sweet, or are greasy or fried. - Drink cold liquids. - Avoid any activity after eating. - Drink a cup of ginger tea
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
