Suggest Treatment For Soreness In The Throat And Sinus Infection
Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...i believe that i have a sinus infection. Started one week ago with sneezing and clear discharge...then very stuffy nose and headache and mild sore throat...then on thursday began to blow thick green mucous...draining mucous a lot but sometimes mixed with some blood after blowing hard. bleeding stops right away.
This is surely indicative of a bacterial infection. I would advise you to consult your doctor immediately for preliminary examination, investigations and get started on proper antibiotic, anti-inflammatory medicines with decongestants both nasal drops and oral. This should give you relief.
Second opinion of an ENT Surgeon for nasal endoscopy, further investigations, CT scan of nose and sinuses will help to get more specific diagnosis and have proper additional management as needed. Complete the course till cured as ENT Infections take more time to heal. Avoid cold and damp atmosphere. Stay in warm rooms. Steam inhalation and plenty of warm fluids help further.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
