Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I hurt my ankle in cheerleading and it s been going on for two months and they said it s just a sprain but I m wearing a brace in school and cheer and it s not helping. When I move it a certain way it burns and the pain level goes right up to a 10. I was on crutches for a week and I barely could walk after the crutches
Dear mam, Since your symptoms have been present for the last two months I want to know wether you have met an orthopaedic surgeon and wether any xrays or MRI were done? If not then I would suggest you meet your orthopaedic surgeon and discuss regarding the same. These modalities help you to localise the problem to bones and ligaments. Ankle ligaments are notorious to become chronic if proper rest and treatment is not given. I would definitely advise you to decrease the weight bearing on that ankle.
