General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The presence of Leukocytes in the stool is related to a bacterial infection. I suggest giving a baby or child an oral rehydration solution.

In case of very severe diarrhea require hospitalization so they can be given fluids intravenously.

Acetaminophen can be given to help reduce discomfort and treat the fever. Antibiotics may be needed such Bactrim.

I suggest consulting your doctor because it is a prescription medication.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
