65 year old female. Overweight. On blood pressure medication. Forgot to take in am and had a few minutes where my eyes could not focus and it really scared me. I took my bp med and my bp was 160/100 and and then 160/90. I do have a history of migraines but The sudden blurred vision was very unsettling. Just wondering your opinion. Should I be scared?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

There is nothing you should be scared of. You need to keep monitoring your blood pressure (BP) and record the results for reference. Meanwhile, take your anti-hypertensive drugs regularly, and do schedule an appointment with your eye specialist. It often happens that hypertensive patients with experience increased eye pressure (glaucoma) too, especially at your age (65). Discuss this further with your caring doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
