i have had gout on and off twice a yr, usually at the end of spring and in the middle of fall. always in my left foot toes. once a few yrs back it spread a little bit to my knee. when this happens, i drink cherry juice and it would go away in 4-5 days with more water than i would normaly drink. the very 1st time i went to the ER not knowing what was happening. they said i had gout and wrote me a prescription. 10 pills not sure what they were, but that was over 15 yrs ago. this time around was the worst. I live in Spokane but have to take my gf to UW med center for her to complete radiation for cancer. next month we will be their for a 4 days a wk for 4 wks neutron radiation therapy. that being said here s the problem. where we stay is at the SCCA house in downtown Seattle. Surrounded by lots of hills just to go to the closest grocery store. I have walked these hills 5 times before and didn t have a problem. this time, a day after i got back, my left leg from above the knee down completely locked up above the knee all the way down to my toes. with all the fire , sharp pains, swelling and numbness for gout a person could expext only worse. My doctor/ nurse has me on hydrochlorathyazide, losartan, and naproxen all ready, for my heart to a broken foot on the right side for a yr and reccomended the same stuff. she was on vacation so the soonest i get to see her is tuesday. any other ideas will be greatly appreciated
