hi, i have swelling inside my ear for past 3 days. i also have a hole in ear drum. am taking candid ear drops and some tablets for past 2 days as per ENT specialist advice. when will the swelling reduce? Pain has reduced a lot, but still swelling exists.my doctor said he was not able to see the ear drum because of swelling. am keeping my ear dry always. should i take any other care for my ear?
Swelling in the external auditory canal may be acne or eczema or otitis externa. Along with tympanic membrane perforation showing underlying middle ear infection. It may take time to recover. If not recovered may need to change antibiotics and low dose of steroids may reduce the edema. Avoid water entry into the ears. If no improvement please consult with your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
