General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted the history about your 56 year old fiance having very swollen ankle, frequent vomiting after food heavy breathing, diarrhea for over a couple of weeks.
If the swelling is in one ankle the cause may be local and be due to the following reasons:
INflammation of the ankle joint.
Osteoarthritis.
Synovitis.
This can be diagnosed by the following ways: Consult an Orthopedic Surgeon for clinical evaluation and investigations as needed to get a proper diagnosis so that an appropriate management can be done.
Vomiting and diarrhea can be due to enterocolitis.
Get the stool and blood tests done and get started with an appropriate management.
Heavy breathing can be due to sinusitis, nasal septal defect or so on that needs an opinion of an ENT Surgeon and further management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
