Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have swelling in my left ankle, I favor my left leg when walking by taking weight off of ankle as I walk. my ankle hurts frequently, sharp pain a lot of the time. When turning toes inward or to the right the pain is very sharp. I did general x ray of ankle and no fracture noted, however pain persist daily and my left ankle almost double the size of that on right. Do you think an MRI might be helpful? could I have torn tendons or ligaments?
Hello, I have gone through your query and understand your concerns.
Yes, you can go for MRI along with that I suggest you to have a doppler both arterial and venous of you lower limb which is affected. For pain relief you can use diclofenac gel and for swelling we usually prescribe seropeptidase tablet. Hope this answers your query.
Regards, Dr.Alekhya.
