Thank you for asking on HealthcareMagic.com, providing better healthcare for you & your family. Let the antibiotic runs its course. Difficulty swallowing is very common during acute
tonsillitis. Consult physician if your daughter has severe dysphagia or
dyspnea, signaling possible
airway obstruction. Also help your daughter to follow these lines:
1. Hot tea, soup, and throat lozenges soothe the throat.
2. Don’t let her return to school until she have completed a full 24 hours of antibiotic.
3. She should eat a healthy diet. If swallowing is difficult, she should eat soft foods such as Jell-o, pudding, and soup. Avoid salt and spicy foods. Increase her fluid intake.
Wishing good health for all your family.
