Suggest Treatment For Swelling On Ankles Post Knee Surgery

I had arthoscopic knee surgery 3mos ago and my right anle stays swollen. No pain in knee or ankle but swelling. Went back to my surgeon today and infected a cortisone shot and told to wear compressions socks during the day. Had an ultrasound done for possible blood clot and came back negative but did show a bakers cyst. Should I see any other specialist who could help my swelling. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Wearing compression stockings and corticosteroid injections may help you to treat Baker's cyst and no further treatment may be required. If it still persists you may need to drain it surgically by orthopedist. Wait and see how the treatment will go.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
