What Does Myxoid Degeneration In Medial Meniscus, In MRI Report Suggest?
Hello Dear Doctors,Please let me know what is the meaning of below statements in MRI result and what is the treatment? Also is the knee surgery needed for treatment or not?1- Myxoid degeneration is evident in the posterior horn of medical meniscus.2- Lateral subluxation and grade I chondromalacia of patella are evident.3- Minimal joint effusion is seen. Thanks in advanced.
welcome to Health care magic. 1.Degenerative changes depending on the joint space narrowing operation is only the treatment of choice like TKR (total knee replacement) 2.Operation is only performed if other medical conditions and age support. 3.Posterior horn of the meniscus is damaged and the shock observable character lost, which needs repair. 4.Lateral subluxation - lateral moved / displacing due to softening of the cartilage (chondromalacia). 5.Joint effusion is due to the underlying infection / inflammation in the joint space. 6.If you are having difficulty in walking / daily activities - operation is the treatment of choice with your findings. Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health. Anything to ask ? do not hesitate. Thank you.
