Suggest Treatment For Swelling, itching And Soreness In Ankle

Hi, I got stung yesterday by a yellow jacket on my left leg about 5 inches up from my ankle. Now, 24 hours later my ankle is swollen, skin above the ankle is hot to the touch, itching, and occasional throbbing. I ve taken Benadryl and applied cold compress but it doesn t seem to b helping. Do I need to go to urgent care or just wait it out

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

You can try adding an anti inflammatory medication to see if this helps with some of the symptoms eg naproxen, ibuprofen, cataflam

This should be used along with the benadryl to see it it helps.

If there is no improvement then you may need to seen by your doctor or urgent care

I hope this helps
