Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Painful Big Toe
My right big toe and foot around the base joint is swollen and painful to walk on. I am walking on the outside of my foot and now my hip hurts. I have an appointment for the 7th with a podiatrist. I think it is Gout. My wife says not. I am taking advils for the pain and to reduce swelling. If it is gout will the advils make it worse?

Your symptoms seem to be related to gout. I suggest to do a uric acid level and ERS level for further evaluation. Meanwhile you can use anti inflammatory medication such as Advil to relieve the symptoms.
