Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Painful Leg

grand daughter was at the hospital yesterday, she had pain, and leg swelling with red and blueish area, she had what looked like an infection on her toe 2 weeks prior. hospital stated it is HST. What is that medical condition. she also see s an onicoligist.

Hi,

I feel all the problem is due to her toe injury. There is swelling &inflammation of the legal the infection has spread there.

Inflammation of peripheral blood vessel &it's breakage leaking blood in tissue has caused blue discoloration.

Looking at the severe pain & swelling, deep vein thrombosis needs to be considered in addition to vessel bleed.

* Please avoid movements of leg/avoid massage /over the counter pain medicine can be taken.

In addition, you may need antibiotic & blood thinners&compression stockings (depending on physical examination &investigation report).

*Consult vascular surgeon for proper diagnosis earliest....for specific management.
