I have been on pravastatin for over 1 year and feet have been swelling along with legs. they are beginning to hurt, heart doctor took me off amlodipine. I now think it is the pravastatin. going to dr to have blood work. something is not right, feet only go down at night when elevated I don t want to take any more pravastatin to see if this is the culprit, what danger would it be
Muscle disorders in form of myopathy is a very well known side effect of the statin medications used to lower the cholesterol levels. You must discuss the need of change of molecule from pravastatin to others for curing the above mentioned ill effect of painful legs. Till that time, discontinue the current pravastatin dose and inform your doctor office on phone.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
