Suggest Treatment For Swollen Ankle Caused Due To Injury

Hi doctor, I twisted my ankle the other night at soccer. I landed on the side of it and it was immediately swollen and causing pain. I heard a noise when I landed too. The pain wore off, now 2 days later and the swelling has slightly went down, and isn t the size of a baseball anymore, but it s still swollen so it looks as if I don t have an ankle. Now purple in spots and terribly bruised. Is it broke?

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, ideally such injury needs x-ray study just to rule out fracture part else for the swelling and pain "Tab Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen" can be tried, try to keep the leg in elevated position, else this is nothing to worry, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
I find this answer helpful
