my dad is in an intensive care unit on a vent but conscious, when i visited him today his right arm was swollen, bruised and it was very hard. when i left the nurse said he was getting an ultra sound on it. he has copd, emphyzema, a bad heart and cannot get off the ventilator. he is trached and has enormous amounts of secretions and is on a feeding tube. his prognosis is poor but just wondering what the arm could be
