The swollen finger joint with swelling including pus discharge indicates definite abscess formation with cellulitis stage. My guidelines at present: - Need emergency consultation with general surgeon who will decide the line of action as incision and drainage surgery is required or conservative treatment will cure it - Primary relief with ice application - Analgesic as ibuprofen after meals if no history of drug sensitivity
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
