Suggest Treatment For Swollen Gums Above The Abutments That Hold A Brige
I have swelling in my gum above a crown that holds a bridge. my jaw and cheek area swell and fell tender to touch. My top lip on left side is sensitive when you try to lift it up. Also around my eye and on my forward above are tender to touch. All on left side of face. could this be an absess? Painful today.
As per your complain it seems that the tooth on which abutment is placed and causing the following symptoms is decayed leading to inflammation and there might also be abscess formation..
For ruling out the exact condition you need to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and an x ray has to be done for confirmation of diagnosis..
You can be advised a course of antibiotics and painkillers and along with it if the tooth is decayed removal of the bridge followed by Root Canal treatment or extraction depending upon condition of tooth will be done..
As for now take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen and do cool compresses over swelling..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
