Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of Bartholin Cyst

Hi. I have just found out about Bartholin cysts because I think I have one. I ve had it for two days now. I would like to know if they usually disappear after a few days and if there are any recommended creams I can use. I m more interested in home remedies but I am confused about whether to leave it alone or try to drain it. I heard that they usually go away on their own. I have very minor discomfort only when walking and sometimes sitting. I think there might be a little swollenness and itching every so often but there s no pain when it comes to urinating or fever.

Hi,

Smaller cysts usually drain on its own. Soaking in a tub filled with a few inches of warm water (sitz bath) several times a day for three or four days may help a small, infected cyst to rupture and drain on its own. Surgical drainage may be needed to drain a cyst that is infected or very large. Antibiotics will also be required to reduce the infection.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
