Hi, I have my left ear producing some waterlike liquid, that doesn't seems to stop. I picked my ear with a cottontip, and at one stage some dark brownish matter came out. looked at it with a magnifier, and it looked like the remnants of an insect. Could this be the reason for all the waterly liquid coming out of my ear? Would Synalar otic solve my problem. regards Curt B. Hill
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of otitis externa which seems to be due to presence of infection.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply warm compresses on ear and consult ENT specialist for proper examination without any delay as chances of spreading the infection further to middle and inner ear and cause complications like tinnitus. Doctor may examine with otoscope and order CT scan and may prescribe antibiotics like gentamycin for at least for 10 days along with decongestants and anti inflammatory medications. Start with prescribed corticosteroid ear drops and keep your ears dry.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
