Hello,
Your husband is suffering from
tailbone pain due to fall. He had CT and MRI done, it came normal. Presently he is pooping blood. You are suggested to get him re-examined by a GP, pooping blood may be indicative of some type of internal injury. Other medical conditions that can cause
blood in stool are proctitis,
ischemic colitis,
angiodysplasia, hemorrhoids, fissures, etc.
He will have to go through required blood tests, stool examination (R/E and C/S), imaging and other tests. When the pathology is detected he will be treated accordingly. To help him get rid of pain in the tailbone you are suggested to apply hot or cold packs to on his lower back. Apply for no longer than 20 to 30 minutes, several times a day.
You can give him stool softeners, he should decrease sitting time, you can give him pain relieving medicines (
acetaminophen) to reduce pain and swelling. Sitz bath may help. Help him stay away from alcohol or any other addiction.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
