hello
i have gone through your query. Most kids battle diarrhea from time to time, but the good news is that it's often caused by infections that don't last long.it is usually brought on by gastrointestinal (GI) infections caused by viruses, bacteria, or parasites.
Rotavirus infection is a frequent cause of
viral gastroenteritis in kids.if i was your treating doctor then i wud advice following simple steps
Oral rehydration solution (ORS) or plain water (if the child is eating food) may be used to replace fluids lost from diarrhea.
Allow your child to drink as much fluid as he wants.
Keep giving the ORS until your child's stools return to normal.
ofloxacin plus
ornidazole syp can be given to stop diarrhea.
Give your child frequent small meals, at least 6 a day, while he is having diarrhea.
easily digestible foods, such as rice cereal, pasta, breads, cooked beans, mashed potatoes, cooked carrots, and bananas can be given.
after 6-7 days when diarrhea stops a deworming drug like
albendazole can be given for any worm infestation.
Hope this ans helps. wish your child a speedy recovery.
Regards
Dr. Shesh
