Hi,
Noted the history about a boy of 18 diagnosed as throat disease caused by allergies, not able to swallow foods without chocking or without washing it down with fluids, tests showed allergy to different types of foods, trees, pollen, wants to know effect of tobacco on this problem.
With your detailed history you have a throat problem at such an early stage of life.
The causes can be sitting in the nose and
sinuses also.
Hence I would advise you the following:
First of all consult an ENT Surgeon for proper clinical evaluation, examination and investigations.
CT scan of nose and sinuses.
Tests of throat swab.
Tests of blood additional to
allergy tests.
Once a proper diagnosis is done proper management with anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory and as required.
Tobacco in such a case can increase the throat problem to a large extent and not allow proper output of management.
Also have
Povidone Iodine gargle.
Avoid all the things that cause allergy as prevention is better than cure.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT and General Surgeon
