I have tonsil stones/crypt debris and have had for 10 years. I often use a cotton bud to scratch them off when they get too big as they scratch my throat. I did this yesterday but think I pressed a bit too hard. As I did so part of my tonsil bulged out (almost like a herniation) and began oozing white fluid. When I swallowed the fluid disappeared but the new buldge in my tonsil is still there. I'm concerned. There is no pain but should my tonsil have done this? I have extremely important exams in 5 days and don't want to leave this if it could lead to a nasty infection.
Hi, thanks for the query. you are having chronic follicular tonsillitis. Start antiseptic mouthwash , Plenty of fluids , Paracetamol , Antibiotic azithromycin for 5 days. Consider Tonsillectomy if it recurrent after exam. Certainly above treatment will give you much relief but if relief is not upto satisfaction level then consultation with your ENT doctor will become essential. Hope this information helps you, take care and have a nice day.
