Hi,I am Dr. Radhakrishna (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband has a very large umbilical hernia which is hard and protruding outside of his belly button area. I do not believe you can push it back it. He has not been to a Dr in 25 years and refusing to go. It is probably protruding about 1/2 the size of a good size lemon. He wears a truss to keep it tucked in. I myself have had 3 hernia repairs due to female surgeries. The last was a permanent repair with gortex. I cannot convince him to go, and I am afraid of it getting larger and strangulating. Any suggestions?
Hi. Even the Umbilical hernia can get strangulated and unfortunately as a complication of struss he is using. IF he is not willing , no one in the world can help. If he is no listening to his own wife how can one convince him. The best way is to take him to the operation theater the moment he has obstruction.
