Suggest Treatment For Uncontrollable Shaking, Chest Pain And Panic Attacks While Having Cancer

My mother in law is dying of cancer therefore my father in law is very stressed. He started shaking uncontrollably and feels his face hot. He is not having chest pain or shortness of breath. I am a nurse and I think he is having a panic attack but I don t want to miss anything. I gave him a 0.25 Xanax 20 min ago and he seems to be getting better His heart rate is 88 bp 183/59

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Consult a psychiatrist and get evaluated.
Drugs like clonazepam may be required.
Avoid unwanted stress and anxiety. Relaxation techniques like yoga and meditation can help a bit.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
