My husband is 68 years old and has vertigo and gout. He has had it for 3 weeks and has gone to see a doctor many times, it does not seam to go away. His gout started on his toe and also his wrist. Today he got gout in the other wrist, what causes it and what can we do to cure it? He has been careful with his diet and drinking of alcohol.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The symptoms of your husband seem to be related to gout. I suggest to use anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen to relieve the pain.
I also suggest using ice compresses for local application. To treat the good it is necessary using specific medications such as allopurinol which should be prescribed by your doctor.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
