You said you suffer from vitiligo. I would like to say few things about vitiligo. Vitiligo is an autoimmune depigmenting skin disease of unknown cause. There may be genetic tendency. Trauma, burn,surgery..etc might precipitate the disease. The prognosis may be unpredictable. In some patients there may be repigmentation without treatment. In other, treatment may not improve the disease. However, one should take treatment with patience.
I usually treat my patients in following way..
- tab trimethoxsalen 25 mg in the morning - tab levamisole 50 mg at night - tab folic acid 5 mg at night - tacrolimus oint 0.01% Oint to apply at night daily - trimethoxsalen or psoralen containing cream or lotion may be applied on the patches followed by exposure to ultraviolet A rays or sun rays for 5 min. at noon
You consult dermatologist for firm diagnosis and treatment. Have treatment for long time with patience. You might get repigmentation in vitiliginous patches. I hope you got my answer.
Thanks.
