Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am on .05 ml of test twice a week. A year ago I started having welts appear above my butt on the bet line and then it spread to my full butt. I have discounted the test for three months and it slows down but the scares are still there. I started the cycle again and the welts came back in full force. I was on test for two years prior. no problems. no welts. Could it be a staph infection. I tried antibiotics for two weeks and no disappearing of welts or scare did another cycle of antibiotic and no movement. They do not seep or puss???They dont break. Please may suggestion. I have been to Dr.dermatological ,Dr hormone, Dr.Gen, Dr Family No one knows what this due to?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
Welts on the buttocks can be caused by various conditions such as infections, allergies, or autoimmune disorders. Given that antibiotics have not been effective in resolving the issue, it's possible that the cause of the welts is not an infection.
I recommend you seek a second opinion from a dermatologist or another specialist who can determine the underlying cause of the welts and recommend an appropriate treatment plan. They may also recommend additional tests or procedures to help diagnose the issue, such as a skin biopsy or patch test.
Also, you need to talk with your doctor about the possible link between the welts and your testosterone therapy. In the meantime, you can keep the affected area clean and dry and avoid irritating the skin, such as tight clothing or harsh soaps.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
