My father is 92. He has had type 2 diabetes since he was 63. He has taken Glimepiride (sic) and Metformin since the beginning. His physician recently stopped his glimepiride. Since my father has difficulty walking now he cannot exercise to control his sugar levels like he used to. I try to maintain his diet as well as I can without destroying his willingness to even eat. Why would his physician stop his glimepiride and should there not have been another medicine in its place? He was given an anti-inflammatory (meloxicam) instead. Daddy didn t ask me into the dr office so I am not positive what was said and daddy s memory on the discussion is hazy...any help would be appreciated
