Suggest Treatment For Withdrawal Symptoms Of Zyprexa

I had been taking zyprexa for four years and slowly weaned of it. I was completely off of this drug for about 10 days when I experienced a very bad panic attack. My doctor put me back on it last Friday ( 4 days ago) and I am still feeling anxious. Not a full blown panic episode but my heart is racing and I just feel nervous etc.. Could this be my body readjusting to being on this medication again ???

Oncologist 's  Response
Hi,

Symptoms may include agitation, fast heartbeat, drowsiness, slurred speech, sudden and uncontrollable movements, and coma.

Zyprexa has no habit-forming potential, but it is not recommended that you discontinue use of the drug before talking with your doctor, as withdrawal symptoms can occur.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Monish De, Oncologist
